There are two main types of bingo that are played across the world today, 75 ball bingo and 90 ball bingo. The 75 ball bingo game is most common in North American (United States and Canada) and the 90 ball bingo is often played in Europe, Australia and Asia (UK being the most popular).
The main difference in the 75 ball bingo and the 90 ball bingo games is the way the bingo cards or tickets are arranged and how the winners are determined.

In 75 ball bingo there is a single card for each game that is filled with 24 numbers and a free square. There are five rows and five columns on each card with the word BINGO across the top. Each column represents one of the letters from the word BINGO. The object in 75 ball bingo is to complete the pattern that is announced at the start of the game. These winning 75 ball bingo patterns could be one line, an ‘X’, a square, a full card, etc.
In 90 ball bingo the tickets are a lot different than the 75 ball bingo cards. Each ticket purchased comes with 6 cards where the numbers 1 to 90 are arranged throughout. Each individual 90 ball bingo card has 3 rows and 9 columns. Each line has 5 numbers per row for a total of 15 numbers per card (the remaining squares are left blank). There are three objects in 90 ball bingo which can lead to three different winners. The first part of the 90 ball game requires the players to match five numbers on one horizontal row. The second stage of the 90 ball game requires players to match the five numbers on two different horizontal rows. The third and final stage of the 90 ball bingo game is for the player to mark of all 15 numbers within one card on their ticket; this is usually referred to as a full house. The prizes are awarded between the three stages of the game with the final ‘full house’ stage paying out the most money.
Both 75 ball game and 90 ball bingo games are a lot of fun to play.
